Ras AL Had archaeological site has been dated to the third millennium BC. It was a trading settlement with ships from across the east calling there. The excavation of brickwork accommodation sites is dated to the Bronze Age. Finds are on display in the nearby Ras Al Jinz Museum and Visitor Centre. The excavation site is reached by driving towards Ras Al Had from Ras Al Jinz and turning right at the roundabout at the start of the township and then right again onto the dirt road towards the mosque which is close to the site. The photo opposite is of the lagoon near the site.
