Burial Chamber in Abu Dhabi
There are about 600 cairn tombs on the eastern side of Jebel Hafit South of Al Ain on the Eastern border of the UAE to Oman, dating to between 3200–2800 BCE. Only about 100 of these "Beehive" type tombs have been excavated and partially reconstructed. The rest lie in rubble. Painted grave offering pottery found suggests trading links between the local inhabitants and the Sumerian civilisation of Mesopotamia.
