Standing Stone (Menhir) in Sogn og Fjordane
Close to she shore line of Naustdal is a tall and beautiful standing stone. It is located on the edge of a natural sand terrace overlooking the ocean and the Nordfjord. The terrace is overgrown with short grass and some leaf trees are growing around its edges.
The stone is around 4.5 to 5 metres in height, around 70-80cm wide and around 10-20cm wide. It is shaped as a large standing stone slab. It is standing straight and with no tilting. Around 40 metres to the east inside the grass field is a smaller standing stone. It is around 1.30 metres in height and around 20 cm wide.
The site has a beautiful view over the fjord and the surrounding high mountains!
