Rock Art in Hordaland

This rock art site is located on a vertical rock cliff close to the ground where the cliff meets a flat grassy field just a few metres from the local road. The problem with this site is that there is constantly water running down the cliff. This puts a lot of erosion on the carvings and some of the rock art has been destroyed over the years. Above the cliff are overhanging vegetation and trees. The water has also left some vertical lines that could be confused with pictures.

The rock art site once consisted of 36 figures and two cup markings. 33 of the figures were pictures of boats or remains of boats and three circles. When I visited the site I could find four carvings of ships. One a very beautiful ship carving with high and pointy ends and three more basic ones, all with the typical vertical "crew lines". The ship carvings are from 30-40cm in length.
