Museum in Limburg
In april 1963 a Neolithic grafkelder (cist) was discovered by P. Modderman and it was excavated the same year. A museum was erected around it, which was opened in june 1967.
The cist has been attributed to the Seine-Oise-Marne culture and has been dated to 3000 BC.
Besides the cist, the museum houses many finds from the stone, bronze and iron ages. And also finds from the Roman and Merovingian times.

The megalithic community grave, belonging to the gallery-burial culture of the Neolithic Age, was discovered during a strip-ceramic investigation in April 1963 by Prof. dr. P.J.R. Modderman.
The grave was laid at a depth of 0.70 m and consists of a burial pit of 1.75 x 5.5 m with an original grave floor of larger and smaller field stones. The longitudinal direction is ENE-WSW.
A tripartite structure can clearly be recognized in the floor, which we can distinguish from east to west as an antechamber, middle chamber and back chamber, separated from each other by heavier stones.
Three post holes were later noted from the former superstructure of the crypt. The further covering must have consisted entirely of perishable material and had disappeared without a trace.
