Standing Stone (Menhir) in Rogaland

Just close to the road Highway 509 and just next to a modern church is a pretty standing stone. It is only 2 metres away from the road and easily visible. A metal fence is between the road and the stone and around the stone is only short cut grass. The stone was once taken from this place and put in the foundation wall of the old church. When the church was taken down and the new one built, the stone was replaced on its approximately original position in 1928.

The stone is 2,5 metres in height, 60cm wide at the base and 40cm wide at the top and around 20cm thick.
