Standing Stone (Menhir) in Belgium

When discovered and unearthed in 1999, it was broken in several pieces and re-assembled as it appears today. The Menhir de Ozo is so far the northernmost megalith of the Wéris neolithic field.

I would modestly suggest to replace the first photo by the second one ( http://www.megalithic.co.uk/modules.php?op=modload&name=a312&file=index&do=showpic&pid=131688) because it renders much more the vast horizons of the site, the trapezoidal silhouette (called "Zeupire") of many menhirs of the region, the state of repairs (many menhirs were first broken into pieces before being buried in the past) and, not to forget, a better weather. [Done - thanks for the very nice new photos - Admin]

    Thanks for the update.
I'll be using some pages of the Megalithic Portal (this one for exemple) to introduce myself to various local authorities in order to obtain hard-to-get information about only locally known stones.
