Barrow Cemetery in Belgium

A nice Barrow Cemetry of 3 mounds. Two of them are visible from the forest road, to reach the third one you'll have to walk between the first two, follow a path and about 50 metres from the two others you'll find the third one on your left, a little hidden between the trees.

All three mounds are encircled by wooden poles. These have been renewed.

I was told there should be 4 or 5 mounds but no all could be found at this time.

These mounds date from about 1400 BCE. Inside them people have found cofins made out of hollowed trees trunk.

Very close to this site you'll find the cemetry of Hamont which was opened in 1976 and was designed after the mounds, so this explains the round shapes.

Coordinates of the current cemetry are:
Lat 51.2579316841
Lon 5.51521462302

Shunt writes: Yesterday, while the weather was nice, I decided to create a video of the barrow mounds of Hamont-Achel in Belgium. The first part of the video is the Haarterheide site with three mounds, dating from 1400 BCE, the second one is Grote Haart, dating from about 700 BCE, and it was over 2 hectares in size originally.

These sites are situated about 750 metres from each other.
