Standing Stone (Menhir) in Hordaland

I had previously mapped out this site as one I wanted to visit but I didnt think about it while me and my fiance on our way to Bergen decided to stay in the hotel in Osøyro. At the parking lot she pointed out the barrow and the standing stone and I by chance remembered this was one of the site I previously had in mind!

The standing stone is just next to the road entering the parking lot of the hotel and only 3 metres away from the road. It is 10 metres to the north west of the barrow. The stone is made of slate stone and it is 2,75 metres in height, 75cm wide and the base and 40cm at the top, and around 20cm thick. The top is straight. It had previously fallen down but was later restored. Some of the iron bars used to repair the stone is visible at the base.

The barrow is called "Kongshaugen" as so many other large iron age barrows in Norway. It is 20 metres in diameter and 4 metres in height. It was excavated in 1875 and later restored but I could not find any information of any findings from the excavation. It is just next to the parkking lot of the hotel and covered only with grass except one large and beautiful oak tree.
