Settlements of the Stone Age have been found in Tatarly village in Geranboy province, Azerbaijan. The main factors proving that the area is ancient are human burial places and stone objects. The revealed samples are in the Regional Museum of History and Land Study.

Officials of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan have resumed archeological digs in the Tatarly village of Geranboy. They revealed many interesting material and cultural elements. The objects found during the digs showed once again that they are 5000 years of age. In particular, the stone objects provides information about the level of people of that period.

In addition, this area is proven to be ancient by human burial places of the Stone age. Specialists relate this to the crockery found in the graves.

Archaeologists hold digs in this area for already two years. The works have been completed at at area of 4 hectares. The completion of research in this area is expected in the next two months.
