Ancient Village or Settlement in Syria

Seleucid city on the bank of the Euphrates. Founded in the 4th Century BCE by one of Alexander the Great's generals and destroyed following the Sassanid invasion in 258 CE.
About 2 Km wall on the side of the desert with numerous temples, theatre and baths.
The remarkably well preserved wall paintings of the old synagogue were taken to the Damascus National Museum.
