Gros Caillou, in Lyon, a boulder unearthed in 1892 and soon afterwards placed in its present location in a little park named after it.

The Cafe du Gros Caillou is nearby

Note: Too good to save for Christmas - the 'big stone' in Lyon which was given its very own bobble hat!

Thank a lot to all of you who, in no time, contributed to make this humble page a real collaborative job, by searching and assembling a whole collection of photos documenting so many aspects of this stone, its place in the town and in contemporaneous history !! I really liked it !
