Dolmen in La Nievre

This Monument has been classed as a Dolmen. The bottom half, consisting of at least two very large, ca 5 Meter b 5 meter stones, that were originaly one piece. is probably of natural origin in this location. The top stones might have been added later. A chamber of sorts has been added in the back, under the overhang. There is a bassin cut into the top stone while there are attempted cut marks at the oposite end. There are markings in the so called chamber. 2.4 Km west of town in Foret Domainiale de Breuil-Chenue. The area is officially closed of to motor vehicles, so you will have to hike the 1.5 km from the parking area on the country road up the hill through the woods. In early July, there are a lot of wild strawberrie on the side of the road to make the trip more pleasurable. 610 Meters altitude.
