Formerly preroman, this site took a big importance when the roman erected the "Via Domitia"around the year 30 BC, and consists of three parts;
1-the roman town, along the Vidourle river: inn, houses, public baths, relay
2-the hill, with houses, protected by a long rampart (635 meters) of 26 towers
3-the Via Domitia: after the Ambroix bridge (formerly 11 archs, only 1 remaining), the road goes to the town and climbs the hill by a paved street (tracks of wheels)

A museum is under construction, and will open at 2010 spring

GPS data of rampart= 43.7161--4.1494
