Vleeshuismuseum submitted by Alta-Falisa : "Vleeshuismuseum", the white building with tower, on a typical Flemish "Grote Markt" (Main square). April 2019. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Museum in Oost-Vlaanderen

The former Butchers' Hall (used as such in the middle ages) has been more recently converted into an Archaeological & Historical Museum.

The largest item, and major attraction, is the skeleton of a 28000 years old mammoth.

More mundane fragments of pottery, tools, flint and explanatory boards complete the second floor, dedicated to prehistory. (The first floor and the ground level cover more recent periods).

Address : Grote Markt, B - 9200 Dendermonde
