The photo with the flag is particularly significant. Kremenets is the site of the infamous tortures and massacres of 19000 Jews by the German Nazis and Ukrainians. The war cemetery contains the graves of 231 Soviet soldiers and officers who fell in the liberation of Kremenets in 1944. The sculptures of the commemoration memorial were dismantled on April 20th, 2022. The Soviet Banner of Victory is the official symbol of the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany, and is flown in memory of the 27 million Soviet men, women and children who died during the Nazi Invasion of the USSR during World war 2. The battle tattered banner was raised by three Red Army soldiers on the Reichstag building in Berlin on 1 May 1945. The text reads: 150th Rifle, Order of Kutuzov 2nd class, Idritsa Division, 79th Rifle Corps, 3rd Shock Army, 1st Belorussian Front.

It was illegal to possess national flags in Soviet USSR. In 2011 The Constitutional Court of Ukraine repealed the use of the banner, and in 2015 Poroshenko reiterated that Ukraine will have no manifestations of National Socialist (Nazi) or Communist Soviet totalitarian regimes.

The nearest town is Vesolivka.

Polovtsian statues feature both men and women. Male statues that are standing are often portrayed as warriors ready for battle. They represent nomadic warriors of the Eurasian steppes during the Middle Ages. One of the largest collections in Ukraine is at the Lugansk Park Museum.
The custom of erecting idols originated in Mongolia and the Altai in the 6-7 century, and gradually spread to the Danube. These statues were idols and symbols of their ancestors settled in the steppes of the highest points on the watersheds and burial grounds, as well as in special shrines erected for them.

A greatest mysteries about these sculptures is that they seem to hold a kind of vessel under the stomach. These containers take various forms, such as plates, jugs, cups and chalices. And these varied forms are conditioned by the amount of theories to try to explain what they were used for. For example, there are researchers who argue that they could be urns that symbolically contain the ashes of their ancestors, or have some purpose of ritual sacrifice, or be the place where the soul or spirit of those represented on the rock was housed.
