Temple in Nubia

This temple was also saved from the flooding of the Nile valley. Dedwen was a Nubian Serpent Goddess. The temple is thought to be a Mammisi or Birthing House, where rituals would re-enact the mythical birth of the gods. Originally, this temple was enclosed within the outer wall of the main Kalabsha Temple. This temple sits in the back of the Temple of Kalabsha, 1 Km south the Aswan High Dam.
