Ancient Temple in Upper Egypt (South)
Large rectangular east west oriened mudbrick funerary temple structure with fortress like walls dating from about 2780 BCE. It was built by 2nd Dynasty King Khasekhemwy, and is similar to the larger and later stone structure built at Sakkara south of cairo.
The mud brick walls stood up to 11 meters talls and were up to 5 meters thick.
Due to the advanced decay of the vulnerable mud bricks, about 250,000 new mud bricks were created over the last couple of weeks by the locals under supervision of Egyptologists according to the ancient recipe in order to shore up the most vulnerable sections
