Re: Cairo Airport Obelisk by Anonymous on Sunday, 20 December 2009
It was made by Ramses II and comes from Qantir in the 19th dynasty, ancient Piramesse. It was then taken to Tanis (San el-Hagar) in the 21st dynasty under Psusennes I and was re-used there. It was taken from Tanis in the second half of the 20th century, just like the obelisk at the Gezira Garden in Zamalek.
