Ancient Temple in Lower Egypt (North)

Remains of Temple of Thoth. Hermes was the Greek name of Thoth, but the area was inhabited since at least the 4th Dynasty. The site is jus north of an equaly ruined basilica. The Portico of the temple existed until 1825 and was drawn by early European explorers and published on prints. There was also a Graeco Roman Temple which was converted to a basilica.
