Ancient Village or Settlement in Auvergne:Puy-de-Dôme (63)
Unique archaeological site with anthropomorphic tombs from the early Middle Ages, dominated by a pyramidal ossuary and a chapel from the 12th and 13th century. Inside, many treasures including a virgin to the child and a mural of the 14th.
It is on this hill, the Chastel, that men of the Neolithic came to settle, followed by Celts, Gallo-Romans, then the first Christians. Ancient vestiges prove their passage. The top of the mound was always considered sacred and it was here that the men built their sanctuary
