Ancient Settlement in Muğla Province, Turkey

Access only by boat, then foot. The easiest route is from the two bays to the east, half an hour uphill most of the way, the path easy to follow. From northern bay it's a two hour walk through trees but the ground is very rocky in places. You will pass a Temple Tomb, several walls and an old cistern on your walk south.

Two tombs remain at Lydae with probably a later building. Two old domed water cisterns and a rock tomb are next to a farm below the old Lydae which has pretty much been destroyed. An amphitheatre is also to been seen as you head NW, walking up the hill will take you to the cistern, mentioned above.

The bay to the north is Sea Gull Bay, Yavan Koyu in Turkish.

I think it might really be Insipid Water Bay (Yavansu Koyu), the Turkish for seagull is martı.

Was in Lycia but no Lycian inscriptions have been found, only a Lycian styled tomb. Many Roman inscriptions with Lydai have been found according to The Princeton Encyclopedia and it was a deme (subdivision) of Arymaxa to it's north.
