On the island of Hogland, archaeologists have found traces of sites, the existence of which belong to the Stone Age ( 5-7 thousand years BC ). In addition, about this same time that the megaliths have been found on the island: Sadie-chashechniki stones, cairn and stone towers (houris).
Hogland "high land" - the mountains of the island are the highest points above sea level, within a radius of over 120 km. Currently Hogland is the territory of Russia and is part of Kingisepp district of Leningrad region. After 1940, the island became virtually uninhabited.
Seydi Gogland - large boulders that are in red granite, installed on a small, light or white rocks. These structures are located throughout the island, and mainly on the tops of hills. Sometimes Sejdiu accompanied by other boulders and stones. And then it is possible to detect certain system - such as stones and seid arranged in a line or cross. Unfortunately we will never know how these systems initially looked - on the island more than once took the fight for the territory, and the last was during the Second World War. Many megaliths on the island were destroyed, and those that remain, will never be the same again. Currently, the island is revealed about 20 Sade, but according to the researchers once there were about 100.
