Ancient Temples in Greek Islands (Aegean etc)

Two side by side temples to unknown deities measuring 27 by 14 metres as well as 38 metres by 16 metres which had 17 by 8 columns. Blocks and capitals have been reused at nearby Byzantine church.

There is a dirt road to get there and we made it in a mini car but had to go very slowly and it was very uneven and rocky in places. There is no signage until you get there and even then the sign is weathered. Although it was supposed to be open, it was closed when we visited in February 2022. Still, I think you can see most of it from the road.

You list the position as 39.2465N 26 2653E. I think you will findthat it is 39 2526N 26 2432E. Great site. Howard Smith

The temples are in the Aeolic order and probably date to the late 6th c. BC First explored by a German team led by Robert Koldewey in the 1880s they have been recently cleaned by the Greek Archaeological Service.
