Natural Stone / Erratic in Latvia

A huge boulder, in a vast plain, visible from far away : a very scenic and quiet spot.
Easily accessible by a good 5 km gravel road in a straight line (perfectly suitable for an ordinary car, at reasonable speed), then a 100 m footpath.

The stone was – and still is – famous all around. It was used for various ceremonies throughout the ages, until mid-19th century. See photo of the information board for more details.
Listed National Monument.

Meļķitāru Muldas akmens submitted by Alta-Falisa : A first signpost along the highway A6 (at 56.6215, 25.2012) leads into a gravel road. Four km to go, it says. I think the distance is closer to 5 km, but anyway, you cannot miss the target.
