Natural Stone / Erratic / Other Natural Feature in

One of the largest boulders in Lithuania.

If you come by car from far away, set your navigator to the village of Nemunaitis, where you'll find a signpost at (54.3006,24.0282) -- see photo underneath.
From there, about 2,5 km on an asphalted road which soon becomes an earth road. After about 1800 m, at a T junction, take left (signposted) but the road becomes really "so-so" for a car.
The last 200 m on foot.
Information board at the foot of the stone.

Didysis Dzūkijos akmuo (Didysis = big ; Dzūkija is the name of the ethnographic region ; akmuo = stone) is very well known and visited.
The alternative name Vangelonių akmuo means "Stone of Vangelonys", the closest hamlet, through which you'll drive.

Visited June 2015.
