Santakos parkas submitted by Alta-Falisa : Such a place, the confluence of two important rivers, needed a Stone to mark the place . (In the background, River Neris). June 2015. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Modern Monolith in Santakos parkas (Confluence Park), Kaunas, Lithuania.

Santakos parkas (Confluence Park) was created in 1993, at the confluence of the two most important rivers of Lithuania : Nemunas (Niemen, flowing from Belarus) and Neris (flowing from Vilnius, capital of Lithuania). They are of equal importance where they merge, but the Nemunas, being longest, has given her name to the resulting river.
Kaunas is the largest town of Lithuania.
Such a spot required a nice boulder, for the centuries to come.
