Propylaia
Propylaia submitted by AlexHunger : The Propylaia is the gateway to the Acropolis and a temple in its own right. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Ancient Temple in Attica.
The Propylaia were built as a monumental entrance to the Acropolis temples.

A series of steps takes visitors through a columnade towards the Parthenon. On the South corner, one should find the small temple of Nike Athena, which is partially dismantled for renovations at this time. on the north Corner, there is now the Roman Pedastal of Agrippa which once held a horse drawn chariot statue. Restoration of the entire Acropolis are to be finished in 2025.
