Poros Poseidon Temple submitted by Antonios : Site in Greek Islands (Aegean etc) Greece: The temple of Poseidon functioned also as an oracle site, similar to Tainaro. When Macedonians conquered Athens, the orator Demosthenes sought refuge in Poseidon's sanctuary. He later committed suicide and was buried there. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Remains of 500 BCE Doric temple of Poseidon measuring 28 metres by 14 metres which originally had 12 by 6 Columns. Most blocks were used in local churches.
