Luncani-Piatra Rosie Dacian citadel submitted by AlexHunger : Dacian Hillfort in Romania. The name means pink or red stone. This is the challenging front visible from the road. Access is via the rear by a dirt road accessible only by SUV and then a further 45 minute hike up the rest of the Hill. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Hillfort in Romania

Citadel of the Dacian kingdom before the arrival of the Romans in a heavily forested area.
Remains of towers and the main gate can be seen. Some of the paved road is also still visible. The area of the keep is cleared and the hilltop has been formed into terraces for habitation. Archelogists also found a system of clay pipes imported from greece which delivers water from a nearby higher hill directly into the keep.
830 Meters altiude Unesco World Heritage Site.
Position from handheld GPS device.

Note: Location can only be reached with a 4 x 4 vehicle over about 20 KM of treacherous dirt roads. You must then hike up the rest of the way for about 45 minutes. Hillfort is on private property, but access is permitted via local farm.
