Solar shrine and fortress. Krivi Kamik which means "the stone with the curves" as named by local people is a peak in the Lyulin Mountain, Bulgaria which contains a solar shrine and fortress. It is about 1.5 km north-northeast of the village of Lyulin, Pernik District and 12 km south-west from Bankya, Sofia District. The peak's altitude is 1127m. All the villages in the region of Pernik and the town itself are visible form the top.

In the published "Museum of Pernik 2009 Overview" is reported that topographic and visual comparison of the elevation of sanctuaries in the region of Pernik have been conducted and Krivi Kamik shrine in the area of Lyulin Mountain was included in the study by archaeologists Dr. Philip Mikhailov and Aneta Bakamska.

In early 2011, in a paper on the program of the Section "Thracian archeology" of Bulgarian National Museum of Archeology is noted that the solar shrine had been an object of rescue excavations carried out by Mihaylov and Bakamska and findings are attributed to the Early Iron Age and Roman period.

In August 2013, a message appears on the top treasure hunters invasion that was carried out in the spring of that year. Archaeological evidence suggests that the scale of the peak curves carved stone has a hole which is supposed to have been a grave where a body was laid in the pre historic times. The scale of the eponymous peak curves stone was consecrated to the sun, around which are found fragments of pottery used for rituals and ceremonies dating from the early Iron Age and Roman period.

Undoubtedly solar shrine is associated with prehistoric Thracian settlement of the western part of Lyulin Mountain, which was located on the saddle between the peaks and curves Chuchul Kamik. On grassy terrain on the plateau between the two fortress (built in Halshtat Era) archaeological materials of prehistoric settlement had been found. Many burdens and ceramics with different manufacturing techniques had been excavated. Today, on the terrain of the fortress still there are fragments of coarse, thick pottery and ceramics are scattered. Prehistoric Thracian settlement was built near the two fortresses of Chuchuly Peak and Krivi Kamik. It is synchronous with both fortifications and undoubtedly closely related.

Natural protected land covered by rock, known as Chuchul Kamik or Gola Glava in an area of covering about 0.3 square meters a small fortress had been built in Hallshtat period. The fortified wall had emerged as a shaft above the ground. It had a width of about 1.50 m. Bulgarian archaeologist Ivan Velikov, studied the fortress in the beginning of 20th century reported that the wall was built of small stones without mortar. The small plateau bounded by the wall, fragments of pottery and some pieces of La Tene period ceramics had been found. In Late Antiquity fortress was inhabited and still in military use. On the Northwest side remains of cinder and slag had been found. These findings revealed that in Antiquity the fortress became the processing spot of ores, carried over from the nearby mining areas.

The fortress built near Krivi Kamik peak was located about 2.2 km from the current Village of Divotino. Protected natural terrain with a strong strategic position in Halshtatskata era fortress was built, which encompassed an area of about 0.5 square meters Fortification wall, outlined today as shaft covers the southern slope of the hill. In the past over land were preserved parts of the walls, which were built of stone. Today, in the field fragments of the pre-Roman and Late Antiquity ceramics could be found. In the early years of Roman rule the fortress was abandoned.

Solar Shrine of Beyraintsi Village, Bulgaria

The sanctuary is located about 6 km Southwest of Berayntsi village and was built on the northern mountain slope on the rock massif. On the western slope of the rock there is cut disc diameter 0.80 m. On the ground below the rock massif in an archeological study it was revealed pottery from dark-gray and brown clay with plastic decoration. Some of the fragments were filled with ash. The Mala Garvanitsa area long been used as a stone quarry and today thick layer of stone chippings covers the whole terrain. Excised disc leads the archaeologists to link the cult of the Sun, and suggest that this place was a sanctuary, which has been associated with his cult-like facilities in Western Bulgaria.

Near s.Beraynitsi plate in the area - about 6 km from the present village are the remains of another prehistoric religious facility. On the plateau above Znepole occupied by large stone massif there is carved dish with a diameter of 0.30 m. Archaeological fragments has not been found in plate but its close location close to the solar disk Mala Garvanitsa is an undeniable evidence of a link between the two facilities, which were connected with the solar cult.

On the rock plateau above Znepole area in large area Garvanitsa occupied large stone is carved stone bowl with a diameter of 0.30 m. It is located about a kilometer northwest of the solar disk in the area and Garvanitsa undoubtedly belongs to the same age and is associated with the same cult. Here there was a megalithic facility constituted megalithic currency with a height of 2 m., which had been destroyed by treasure hunters before the end of WW II.

Cult facilities near village of Berayntsi are associated with prehistoric settlement Zavoy area, the remains of which were discovered by archaeologists close to the North of the village, where in an area of about 10 acres still fragments of dark-gray, prehistoric pottery, too deleted and depersonalized could be found. Single fragments have plastic decoration typical of Halstat era.
