bat400 visited on 5th Jul 2017 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 4 Access: 4 The only part of the ancient city one can easily visit today is the Hellenistic theater. There are apparently the foundations of a villa near the theater, but the site itself seems to be grown over. The city site itself is visible as a tree and brush covered high ground, but that portion is not accessible. Outside the city one can visit the "School of Aristotle" and several tombs.

Mieza submitted by SolarMegalith : Ruins of theatre from 2nd century BC in Mieza (photo taken on May 2003). Site in Northern Greece and Macedonia Greece (Vote or comment on this photo)
Remains of an ancient Macedonian town near current Naoussa, where Alexander the Great spent his youth taught by Aristoteles.

Remains of a town were discovered in 1922, with ancient theatre from 2nd century BC as most important monument. Originally it's capacity was up to 2000 people. Ruins of the theatre with preserved remains of proscenium are opened to the public, however other parts of the town are still being excavated.

There don't appear to have been any changes to the accessibility of the ancient town to the public since this listing was entered in 2010, although there have been excavations in the area. You can still visit and view the theater although in May 2017 it was behind a high fence.

The other marked excavation (a Hellenistic house) cannot be seen for the undergrowth.

The springs and site of Aristotle's school can be visited during all daylight hours, and a center/museum promoting his philosophy and the arts of teaching in general is open near that site.
