Luknių akmuo
Luknių akmuo submitted by Alta-Falisa : In the late afternoon sunshine. June 2015. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Random stone, anciently used as a landmark for the ongoing trees-lined road to Luknės.

Today, it has kept its aura as decorative standing stone along the Road 218 ; and a new road to Luknės has been built 200 m further North.

As a matter of interest, the Lithuanian-Latvian border (probably the oldest national border in Europe, competing for this title with the Portugal-Spain border), lies about 1000 m to the West.

June 2015.
