Ancient Village or Settlement in Cataluña. A fortified Iberian settlement located on the hill of the same name in about 2 km from the center of Lloret de Mar. It covered area of 650 m2 and was enclosed by a wall with two gates on the east and west sides and two towers which protected the gates.

Inside the walls there were 11 habitations with one, two or thee rooms. Each of them had living and work areas. In the center of the settlement there was an open space serving as a square with several rainwater harvesting pits.
The site was discovered in 1943, initial research began in 1968, thorough excavation was performed between 1975 and 1986.
Settlement dated back to the period between the 1st and 2nd Punic Wars, around 250 BC. According to archaeological data it was inhabited during fifty years.

Site is open on Saturdays during summer.
The easiest and quickest way to get there is by car, a walk from the town center will probably not take more than 45 minutes but one should take into account that as the site situated 200 m above the sea level the 2/3 of the way is a steep climb.

More information is available here: Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya and Lloret Turisme (including actual timetable and admission fee).
