Forselv
Forselv submitted by kenntha88 : Some strange geometrical patterns, a whale-like figure, and a very strange figure to the left. Has anyone any ideas about what this is supposed to be? (Vote or comment on this photo)
This site with rock carvings is very hard to get to. It is not possible to walk, because they are on the far side of a fjord, and the mountain sides going straight down into the ocean is not possible to cross walking. I had to use a boat, and then search in the forest for an hour to find the site.

But when I found it, it is very easy to see the carvings! there is almost no erosion making the carvings "faint".

They are very well preserved, and with no human activity around, almost gives an "untouched" impression, and almost "authentic" in a way.

They consist of animal figures like reindeer, whales and moose. They also consist of a human figure holding a reindeer in straps.

They also have some strange geological and abstract figures. What they symbolize it is hard to speculate.

Forselv submitted by kenntha88 : Close-up on one of the geometrical patterns. Strange figure! does it symbolize anything, or it is just a stone-age work of art? (Vote or comment on this photo)

Forselv
Forselv submitted by kenntha88 : A mix between multiple carvings of raindeers and a large human shape figure, the legs are visible in the middle of the photo. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Forselv
Forselv submitted by kenntha88 : Beautiful carvings of three reindeers. The carvings are deep and well-preserved. This part was covered with moss until some years ago, and the moss probably have shielded it from erotion. (Vote or comment on this photo)
