Rock Art in Vanuatu
The Yalo Cave on the Island of Malakula is 120 m long. It contains 750 rock paintings and engravings. The smaller Apialo Cave contains 1500 rock paintings and engravings. Many of these paintings are hand stencils and face drawings. The caves were inhabited in 1000 BCE.
Another nearby cave contains the stone of Navet'itiet with many engravings.
