Once inside, it is clear that the stone fortifications have not been reconstructed full circle and many original house foundations have also been left intact. Public admission seems to be 24-7 if you jump the fences, but entrance to the reconstructed houses, exhibitions and the re-enactments of ancient everyday life are only available during peak season and certain opening hours. This fortress is also used as a film set.
Directions: Drive way down south on the island and pass through numerous picturesque villages and many other interesting ancient sites along the wonderfully scenic eastern main road, and the fortress will appear in the flat landscape on your right.
