Vira (Hvar)
Vira (Hvar) submitted by TheCaptain : At the small fishing village of Vira, near the northwestern tip of Hvar Island, can be found a bronze age barrow cemetery. Although the fishing fleet was in, it looks from this photo that the barrows had gone out ! (Vote or comment on this photo)
At the small fishing village of Vira, near the northwestern tip of Hvar Island, can be found a bronze age cemetery, which is made up of twenty two burial mounds positioned around a small headland with a single mound on its top.

The largest of the tumuli in this cemetery is a double mound measuring thirty four and a half metres along the longest axis and three metres high.
