Hillfort in Croatia

You must drive through war ravaged Serb village to get to this site. That a few households returned attests that mines have either been cleared or not laid in the first place. Continuous habitation of Hillfort from Neolithic till Middle Ages. The Hillfort became a Roman Municipium after its capture. There are remains of 3 old churches and one still active one within the walls, as well as Roman and Serb cemeteries, the later of which is still in use. There is a middle ages cemettary near the south entrance. There are remains of Roman villas, Monasteries etc, but little of the Prehistoric buildings other than the impressive town walls survive. Site is 250 Meters by 150 Meters at 277 Meters Altitude. There are two entrances. There were excavations wn 1913, 1961-64, 1969-1977 and 1980-1985. However only 25% of the site has been thoroughly explored.
