ladrin visited on 15th Aug 2017 - their rating: Cond: 5 Amb: 5 Access: 4 The area of Heiliger Stein is very well preserved today with great respect. There is a small partly nature chapel and the reconstructed foundation of abandoned church. Below the main stone there is a chain of spherical black stones which ends with a small circle. If I understood the information sign in german well, these black stones are modern datation and it should designate energy-relevant locations.

Ancient Sanctuary with a cup marked stone with some big cups near the Czech-Austrian border.

It was used in the medieval until the 18th century as a pilgrimage site (there are ruins of an old church and a newer chapel nearby) - and even today people are coming to this "Heiligen Stein" (holy stone)

Another place where the spirit attracts people since prehistory till these days. People believed in a healing power of the water from the circular depressions of the main stone and the place became an important pilgrimage site. In 1755 the pilgrimage church was built there, but soon during the reign of the reformistic emperor Joseph II was abandoned and destroyed. Anyway people were still coming to this special place, so the small chapel was built there.
