Carving in Honshū

A stone, on which shapes of fish (salmon?) is engraved vaguely, is placed at the entrance of a mining museum Innai Ginzan Ijinkan (院内銀山異人館 = Innai silver mine foreign engineers house) attached to Innai railway station. This stone was originally preserved in the garden of an inn (38.960N,140.540E) in Akinomiya spa (秋の宮温泉) SE 20km away.

"Sake Ishi" means 'salmon stone', there are more Sakeishi in Akita prefecture, in Yuri-Honjō city and Kita-Akita city. Once there was another Sakeishi in the garden of a private house in front of Innai station, but it might be lost during the expansion work of the station road.
