Modern Stone Circle in Bohemia
The wild region around the town Sedlec Prčice is known as a Czech Meran (For the details about the area see the site page for the "Kozlov 2 Menhir"). But I would rather call it Czech Bretagne because of a good number of megalithic sites, mainly standing stones. And it is also true that the stones of this area is more visited by "stone enthusiasts" than by wide public.
Anyway during my several journeys there I found, that not only my kind likes Czech Meran´s standing stones. Because local people do as well. Dozens of modern stone structures can be observed along the way. And some of it are worth for a short stop. Obviously tradition and spirit of the place which survived till today.
On the way to the menhirs below the ruined castle Zvěřinec I was passing through the village of Stuchanov. According kind lady, this cute modern stone circle was constructed by local voluntary firefighter unit. I say good job..
