Burial Chamber (Dolmen) in Malta. This dolmen is on the west of the headland of the rocky ravine of the same name, south of the former airfield of Hal Far which is now a factory site. It consists of a capstone measuring 3.8 metres by 1.6 metres.
On the capstone's upper surface is a recess measuring 1.06 metres by 0.66 metres and 5 cms deep. There are also six hollows, one at each corner, and one at the edge in the middle of each long side. These may be contemporary as they appear on other dolmens but they often have also been made into the tops of tall stones and elsewhere to attract birds to rain water collected there and so may be of much more recent times. Below the capstone the live rock has been hollowed out to make a chamber up to 0.7 metres high, on each side of which is a 30 cm high block supporting the capstone.
