Standing Stone (Menhir) in Malta. A 10' high square-sectioned stone pillar which has been trebly Christianized!
The name (meaning 'The Cross') refers to a cross that was once mounted on its top rather than to either of the two that can be seen engraved on its face near the base. The purpose and function of the stone is not known but it may be the survivor of an otherwise vanished temple.
Co-ordinates taken from a map.
