Boeddel visited on 14th Jan 2017 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 4 Access: 2 Park your car in Löcknitz "Am Waldessaum 4". There goes a path in the forest which you have to follow about 3 km straight ahead and you are there.
On more than 1000m in length and nearly 400m in width is in the "Plöwenschen Seebruch" a multi-sectioned fastening system. The location was ideal for an early-historical castle because of the natural shelter in the middle of extensive lowlands.
Slavic settlements and grave fields are known from the surroundings.
The ring-shaped wall of the main castle is still visible today.
Originally, the Wall was certainly higher. Findings prove that the "Burganlage" was used over a period of 400 - 500 years.
