The museum at the Castle Penkun has, among other things, an exhibition on the history of the border, which was heavily guarded in GDR times and separated the town from neighboring Poland, and you can also get a little insight into the prehistory and early history with regional finds from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and the Slavic period.
