Barrow Cemetery in Nord-Trøndelag
The barrow cemetery consists of 16 round burial cairns and one stone slab with cup marks. They are located on a line along a natural east to west oriented ridge with a very nice view to the north and south. A local road follows the ridge and runs past the cemetery on the south side.
Two of the cairns are 11-12 metres in diameter and 1 to 1,5 metres in height. They are both furthest to the east in the cemetery. Most of the cairns are small, between 4 and 8 metres in diameter and 30-50cm in height.
The west part of the cemetery is inside a fenced in grazing ground for horses and the middle part has tight forest. The cairns easiest to see are in the east part. They are overgrown with moss and some larger trees and the individual stones can be difficult to make out under the moss.
