In 1994, the water shortage of Kiso-gawa (木曽川) river revealed the sunken petrified wood. Then the riverbed under the Ōta-bashi bridge near ex-ferry of Nakasendō (中山道) old highway was modified into a park. There is a monument of stone setting which seems to symbolize the petrified wood in the park. The real petrified wood sometimes can be seen at the shoreline.
