Modern Stone Circle / Monolith in Honshū
Kitabatake clan was medieval aristocracy-samurai and supported the fleeting restoration carried out by Emperor Godaigo (1288-1339), later their descendants were destroyed by the conqueror-unifier Nobunaga ODA in 1580. Ex-residence of Kitabatake clan in the deep mountain has a mystic pond garden with fine stones.
