Carving in Honshū
This stone with carving is believed to have once drifted in the shipbuilding dock and obstructed the navigation of the ships, then was moved to the precinct of the shrine to reduce the magical power.
Some Japanese people call such carvings, or scratches, "Petorogurafu (Petrograph, not Ptroglyph)", and believe them as the messages of the Sumerians who brought the civilization from Mesopotamia to Japan, and there exist some learned associations on them.
